The latter.  I'm trying to convince a friend of mine who's a bit of a
FreeBSD hacker to submit a patch to update this.  He told me it's
fixed in the FreeBSD ports collection.

He also found a bug related with an mcount() invocation missing a
`dot' or `underscore' or something like that.
