19991122 doesn't build Linux 2.2.13 kernel

Hi,
sorry for not being specific.

I tried a Linux 2.2.13 kernel with egcs-19991122, but it crashes during
the boot process.
Building der kernel with identical options with an old gcc-2.7.x works
fine.
If this isn't know, what can I do to locate the problem.
(The registers at time of death probably aren't of much value)
