gcc --print-prog-name under Cygwin32

gcc --print-prog-name
under Cygwin32 produces an MS-DOS style pathname - ie using backslashes
and prefixed by 'C:'.

This may or may not be what is required, but surely not within 'GNU
type' configure scripts.

There needs to be another option.
