slight bug on solaris when attempting to use libtool

gcc has never searched the PATH for ld.  It has always had a search
path hard-coded; run `gcc -print-search-dirs' for the full list.

In the next snapshot, you'll be able to configure
--with-ld=/usr/local/gnu/bin/ld, so that gcc will try to use it before 
searching for `ld' in the `programs' search path.
