bug in c++-part of egcs1.1a

I assume this was a result of <sys/wait.h> macro expansion, right? This 
was previously reported by GNU Octave's author John Eaton, and a bug 
that is currently preventing from Octave from building on libc5 using
egcs-1.1.

Hopefully someone will figure out the problem.
