Hi,
I am trying to build egcs-1.1b on an IBM RS/6000-397(Power2 / MCA)
system running AIX 4.2.1.
I am using GNU make 3.77.
The only thing in /usr/local is GNU make.
Environment:
/tmp/Compile
/tmp/Compile/Build
/tmp/Compile/egcs-1.1b
Command Sequence:
cd /tmp/Compile/Build
../egcs-1.1b/configure
make bootstrap
make -k check
make install
Problem:
How can I tell if the build was OK!
The following is the Summary section of the
"check" output.
=== libio Summary ===
# of expected passes 40
=== libstdc++ Summary ===
# of expected passes 30
=== gcc Summary ===

I encountered another problem while trying to build
egcs-1.1b when trying to use the --with-cpu= option
during the "configure" phase. If I used "power"
I got through the "configure" step, but it failed in
the compliation phase telling me that "maskir" is not
part of the "COM" instruction set, which is correct.
However; since I specified "power" it should not
be trying to use the "COM" instruction set. At first
I though maybe the problem could be associated with
the parameter that I was passing so I decided to try using
the parameter that the IBM C compiler expects.
That is; "com", "pwr", "pwr2", "ppc", etc.. When
I tried using a couple of these values I could not
get through the "configure" process. I believe that
the error message was: unknow parameter.
