Warnings during compile of 19981012 snapshot

I've also seen these warnings trying to build the previous snapshot.  I
don't know if they are important, but am passing them on anyway.  The
range warning seems to be the most important.  This is on HPUX 10.20 6
processor K box using the included 10.32.05 version cc compiler for
first stage bootstrap.
