I configured with --with-gnu-as and bootstrapped with BOOT_CFLAGS=-O3
on a i386-pc-solaris2.5.1
That test fails with signal 11 when run using -O2 and a compiler updated
on 980930-17h37(central TZ, aka -5:00).
Repeating with a compiler updated only 4 hours later (on 980930-21h43),
cc1 infloops. When I interrupted it, the process size was about 60MB.
$ gcc -g -O -c gcc/testsuite/gcc.c-torture/compile/921206-1.c
$ gcc -g -O2 -c gcc/testsuite/gcc.c-torture/compile/921206-1.c
gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 11
[Exit 1]
$ gcc -v
Reading specs from /p/p/egcs-980930-17h37/lib/gcc-lib/i386-pc-solaris2.5.1/egcs-2.92.11/specs
gcc version egcs-2.92.11 19980930 (gcc2 ss-980609 experimental)
Here's the excerpt from the test log:
FAIL: gcc.c-torture/compile/921206-1.c, -O2 -g
got a INT signal, interrupted by user
