1.1b emits unimplemented 68060 opcodes

Please help! My newly built egcs-1.1b 2.91.57 C cross-compiler
(target=m68k-coff, host=i586-pc-linux) emits unimplemented 68060 opcodes.
My compile switches are -m68060 -O3 -ffast-math.

Examples:
  mulul %d3,%d1,%d0
  fdmulx %fp4,%fp3

I'm finding these bogus opcodes inside library functions such as sprintf(),
as well as within my own functions.

I built the compiler from binutils-2.9.1, egcs-1.1b, and newlib-1.8.1.

I've noticed that Dave Fidde's "ColdFire" egcs cross-compiler emits the
same unimplemented opcodes. Hmmm.

My 68060 project makes heavy use of integer and FP math, so I can't afford
to trap exceptions and emulate. I'm a newbie with linux and egcs tools.
Advice welcome!
