do you think you can destill the responses in this thread to some
README file for /gcc/testsuite? (The existing READMEs there could
be worked into that.)

Originally I wanted to do this by myself, but I have the strong feeling
this should be one by someone who is more knowledgable about this topic
than me.

I believe that would a valuable addition which shouldn't take too long
and might result in more resp. better testcases being submitted...
