egcs-19980517: 2 bugs, libiberty, alpha

Hi,
  EGCS-19980517 appears to have the following 2 bugs;
System is a DEC Alpha 21164a on an LX164 motherboard running
Linux 2.1.98. GCC 2.7.2.3 (RedHat patched) is being used to build
EGCS.

  1) When building libiberty I get the error:
