egcs-1.0.1 build/install on hppa1.1-hp-hpux10.20, internal error

Hi,

I successfully built and installed egcs-1.0.1 on HPUX-10.20
(hppa1.1-hp-hpux10.20). The configuration was done in 'objdir'.

../confiure --with-gnu-as

The compiler seems to run ok for most packages. However, I still have a
problem left: I had hoped to be able to compile now ImageMagick-4.0.
However, as already with egcs-1.00, I get an internal compiler error:

The problem seems to be with the optimizer. It happens with -O2 and -O,
without the optimizer, the programm compiles o.k.

gcc -v gives:

Reading specs from

gcc version egcs-2.90.23 980102 (egcs-1.0.1 release)

If relevant: 

as -v gives:

GNU assembler version 2.8.1 (hppa1.1-hp-hpux10.20), using BFD version 2.8.1

Any ideas?
