got Internal compiler error 109 with egcs-2.91.09 on linux PentiumII

Hello, 

I've got an internal error using
g++ -v
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/egcs-2.91.09/specs
gcc version egcs-2.91.09 980221 (gcc-2.8.0 release)

plateform is a (new) Linux Pentium II biprocessor Dell workstation
with 256Mb RAM & 2*4.3Gb SCSI disk with 2 processors activated (597.20
BogoMIPS)

OS is Debian-5.0 (with patched libc to 2.0.6) 

kernel is Linux version 2.0.33 (root@orion.serma.cea.fr) (gcc version 2.7.2.3) #2 Mon Feb 9 11:03:56 CET 1998

Using egcs weekly snapshoot (but previous snapshoot had the same
error)

egcs-980221/ was ./configure-d with CFLAGS='-O4 -pipe' and
--prefix=/usr 

egcs was make bootstrap-ed and make install-ed

Software compiled was jade-1.0.1. You can get it by ftp from
ftp.jclark.com:/pub/jade/jade1_0_1.zip

The only change is to acknowledge that egcs is ANSI C++ compliant.

So I edited the jade-1.0.1/Makefile to have

DEFINES=-DSP_HAVE_BOOL -DSP_ANSI_CLASS_INST -DSP_MULTI_BYTE -DSP_ANSI_LIB $(XDEFINES)


then I make -f Makefile.jade (which includes the edited Makefile) and
got
