egcs-1.1.1: g77: line numbers in diagnostic messages

I *think* this is the same item that's been on my list of things to
do (and in the list of known bugs in g77, see "Some confusion...")
for some time.

As I recall, fixing it is not trivial, nor especially hairy, but
I've got lots of items like that on my list, so it probably won't
get fixed anytime soon by me.  If someone else wants to take it
on, they should contact me -- I'll probably be able to resurrect
some memories/notes about the problem and it's probable fix, to
offer some useful guidance.
