Good.  We know both problems are the same.  I checked in a fix for this into
the tree a few days ago.  So you should be able to build the latest snapshot.

I believe net releases of binutils do not work on NeXT systems.  So I'm not
terribly suprised.  Disappointed, but not suprised.

Note Kate has a newer version of the NeXT-hacked assembler available on some
ftp sites.  See the FAQ.
