Autoconf 2.12.1 or higher: where is it?

Hi there,

trying to bootstrap egcs-19981206 gives

gcc -g -O2 -o makeinfo makeinfo.o multi.o ../lib/libtxi.a -lz
make[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/distrib/objdir/texinfo/makeinfo'
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/distrib/objdir/texinfo'
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/distrib/objdir/texinfo'
Bootstrapping the compiler
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/local/distrib/objdir/gcc'
cd /usr/local/distrib/egcs-19981206/gcc; autoconf
FATAL ERROR: Autoconf version 2.12.1 or higher is required for this script
make[1]: *** [/usr/local/distrib/egcs-19981206/gcc/configure] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/distrib/objdir/gcc'
make: *** [bootstrap] Error 2

I have looked for autoconf version 2.12.1 or higher in the most
logical places, but I could not find it: even the home page of
the autoconf maintainer points to version 2.12.
I am afraid I have missed at least one of the "most logical places" ;)
So the question is: which one?
Thanks to everybody for the great work.
Ciao,

            Roberto
