egcs-19980803 (pre-1.1) mips regressions

	The following are regressions from prior releases/snapshots, but
they don't appear in "make check" because the egcs testsuite doesn't
seem to run with -fno-omit-frame-pointer. 

	I got these with my modified c-torture (which runs with
-fno-omit-frame-pointer.)  And the files from my c-torture/execute
directory are the same as in the egcs/gcc/testsuite dir.  So you can
just use those files with the right flags to reproduce this problem.
