Be careful! I installed a new glibc-2.0.92 (ss 980412) in my system
(i586-redhat-linux, egcs-980321, binutils-2.9.0.3; used to be RedHat-5.0 :)
as default. Old binaries worked fine, but newly compiled stuff that uses
ncurses linked dynamically crashes on sight (?). Recompiling ncurses fixed
that. Also, mingetty didn't work at all, a quick recompile fixed that
too. Might be libc-2.0.92 funnies, but...
