980417-211308 works under RH 5.0

I updated to 980417-211308 EDT, and things compiled OK under RH 5.0
using binutils-2.8.1.0.30 and libg++-2.8.1-980306.

I seem to get the following error regularly duing the gas regression
tests but haven't been worried about it:

	failed to get controlling terminal using TIOCSCTTYparent sync byte write: broken pipe
