egcs 2.91.16 980328 fails on glibc

Hi,

here's another problem with egcs 2.91.16 980328 (the last version I
can use). While compiling glibc with -D__USE_STRING_INLINES (which
adds several asm implementations for string functions and therefore
increases the pressure on the register allocator) compiling nnswitch.c
fails. I've a preprocessed source in ~drepper/nsswitch.i.gz.
Compress 45kb, uncompressed 1.2Mb.

Running cc1 I see

I don't know whether the line information is really correct.

What is strange is that compiling is fast until the
nss_lookup_function function is reached. Here it takes a minute on my
machine before the message appears. No, the compiler does not run out
of memory.
