Hi,

I'm building snapshot 970924 on an i586-pc-linux-gnulibc1 configuration
for c and c++.

I have version 2.7.2.1 of libg++, version 5.4.23 of libc and version
2.7.2.1 of libstdc++ already installed on my system (which is Linux
2.0.29). The original gcc version (/usr/bin/gcc) is 2.7.2.1.

I get the following warning while compiling libio in the snapshot:

   WARNING:  The I/O implementation in FSF libg++ 2.8.x is not
             compatible with Linux libc through 5.2.x.
             See libg++/README for more information.
             YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!

Oddly, I don't have libg++ 2.8.x installed nor do I have libc 5.2.x
installed. Is this a relevant error message and if so how do I get
around it? In an earlier post, I mentioned problems linking a shared
library where I get thousands and thousands of warnings about multiply
defined symbols and symbols changing size which eventually leads to the
death of the linker. Could this be the problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
