While compiling egcs-970917 the following problem
comes up:

 egcs-970917|Fri2:33am} make
/local/kent/egcs/egcs-970917/gcc/xgcc
-B/local/kent/egcs/egcs-970917/gcc/  -DIN_GCC   -g -O2 -I./include  -I.
-I. -I./config  -c ./objc/hash.c -o objc/hash.o
/var/tmp/cc027095.s: Assembler messages:
/var/tmp/cc027095.s:974: Error: no such 386 instruction: `length'
/var/tmp/cc027095.s:978: Error: no such 386 instruction: `cie'
/var/tmp/cc027095.s:979: Error: Rest of line ignored. First ignored
character is `V'.
/var/tmp/cc027095.s:980: Error: Rest of line ignored. First ignored
character is `A'
 (on and on and on)

  This is on a FreeBSD-current machine. Am I supposed to be
using a different assembler?

  Thanks.
