egcs trouble compiling dejagnu

I have an aged version of dejagnu on the RS/6000, so tried compiling
the new one.  It died compiling tcl/deneric/panic.c:

 /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/rs6000-ibm-aix3.2.5/egcs-2.90.07/cc1 panic.i -quiet -dumpbase panic.c -g -O2 -version -o panic.s

gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 10
gmake: *** [panic.o] Error 1

The cc compiler on this system had no trouble.
