I suspect that this bug has been fixed in the development sources, and
so things will likely work with the next snapshot.  If you send me the
preprocessed source file, I can check. 

The Blitz++ library makes extensive and intensive use of member
templates, which are brand-new in g++, and the bugs are still being
shaken out.
