Of the 3 config.cache files:
./gcc/f/runtime/libU77/config.cache
./gcc/f/runtime/config.cache
./config.cache

make clean in the root of the tree only removes gcc/f/runtime/config.cache
and not the other two. For consistency it should either remove all 3 or
none. I suggest all 3; or if you want to keep them, leave that to "make
mostlyclean".
