repo & linking problems

I was finally able to isolate my linking problems w/ -frepo.

Trying to compile:

    // x.cc
    #include <set>

    class C {
        set<int> a;
    public:
        bool operator<(const C &rhs) const;
    };

    bool C::operator<(const C &rhs) const
    {
        return a < rhs.a;
    };

    int main()
    {
        return 0;
    }
    // end of x.cc

using -frepo yields:

    eringer% g++ -frepo -c x.cc
    eringer% g++ x.o
    Undefined                       first referenced
     symbol                             in file
    operator<(set<int, less<int>, __default_alloc_template<false, 0> > const &, set<
    int, less<int>, __default_alloc_template<false, 0> > const &)x.o
    ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to a.out
    collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

This sample compiles & links fine on the 970907 snapshot, but not on
the 970929 or the 971008. SunOS.
