building 971206 for alphaev56-dec-osf3.2 breaks?

Hello,

  I haven't been able to build "egcs-2.91.02 971206 (gcc-2.8.0)" for
alphaev56-dec-osf3.2 on OSF1 V3.2 41.64 alpha.  I ran configure the
following way from "bash":

CC=cc ../src/configure --prefix=/u/fleming/0/aguimond
--exec-prefix=/u/fleming/0/aguimond/alpha_osf3.2

"make bootstrap" breaks at:
