gfortran runtime support?

Hi Everyone :)

I am wondering, what facilities would I lose if I compiled gfortran
without a runtime? Or  alternatively, is the runtime supported across
all the platforms that gcc covers?

Just for "shits and giggles" I want to try to run gfortran on an Arduino :)

I am planning on writing this with a C main ( compiled with
-ffreestanding) and C functions to move values to the various registers.
