I'll just point out that there are some old PDT-related draft patches
linked at https://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/GFortranPatchTracker.

I'm not sure if it makes sense to base any future PDT work on these
directly, or if they have already bit-rotted too much, but in any case
they might give some useful ideas for this discussion ...
