Right.
gfortran -v gives me on SLES 11 SP3:
...
gcc version 4.7.2 20130108 [gcc-4_7-branch revision 195014] (SUSE Linux)

The change you mentioned is in revision 200635.
So I suppose it makes sense to ask SUSE to incorporate that change into 
their build.
