No.  It is preserving them.  Fortran is alive and well and used for the
sort of scientific programming it was originally designed for, and is
unlikely ever again to expand out of that area.  gfortran helps to ensure
its viability by being a high-quality compiler available for free.

There has been no change since a year ago when you raised this on
comp.lang.fortran, and there is unlikely to be much change before at
least 2020.  Please regard that inane petition as dead, and do not try
to resuscitate it.
