Fortran's Affinity towards intel x86

HI
It is amazing to see, when porting gfortran to custom architecture, that
calling convention
of the assembly code generated one to one match to that of intel x86. In my
view the reasons 
may be
1. The gcc for custom arch had c/c++ port only, and gfotran may be requiring
some
    other constructs in the existing backend.
2. There is some needed in the config files be changed.
3. The problem nay be coming from fortran front end because it may be having
some target 
    specific, which i have doubt.

please sugest the solution.
