I built GCC 4.7.2 using Macports on my old PowerMac G5 running OSX 10.5.8
(Leopard). Gfortran compiles my large application fine except when I use
the -fopenmp and -mcpu=G5 options together. I get the following:
raytrace.f90:772:0: error: unrecognizable insn:
(insn 128 217 129 15 (set (reg:DI 166 [ D.324689 ])
(unspec_volatile:DI [
(mem/v:DI (reg/f:SI 161 [ D.324685 ]) [-1 S8 A64])
] UNSPECV_LL)) raytrace.f90:763 -1
(nil))
raytrace.f90:772:0: internal compiler error: in extract_insn, at
recog.c:2123
The line number called out is at a !$OMP ATOMIC directive. I don 't have
the same problem using a gfortran 4.6.2 binary install from
hpc.sourceforge.net . Is this a known problem?
