Damian,

I suggest you go with the mingw version.  The testsuite will not run.  I can 
manually compile and run a program with -static, but I am not satisfied with the 
build. I don't feel right about posting it on the wiki.  I will keep playing 
with it, but don't think I can make your schedule.
