Kindly redirect this query if this is an inappropriate message for this forum - as this form seems concentrated on identifying and resolving gfortran code issues.

We are looking into establishing gfortran on an SBC with a Freescale MPC8640D running VxWorks 6.6. We would be looking to cross compile from a Solaris 10 (U9) host. I did not see this combination included in the "known platforms" list but I realize that this list is probably a subset of the ports that have occurred.

I also saw in the GCC host/target installation notes that "Support for VxWorks was in flux" with reference to the much earlier VxWorks 5.5.

I was told that we would need to modify libgfortran source code and rebuild it for the 8640D target. I have yet to download the GCC source code and make my own assessment. I'd be interested to know whether others think that libgfortran modifications are necessary.

I'm interested in knowing what resources are out there (beyond those identified above) that I might look at for help in understanding the steps and level of effort that lies before us.

Thanx
Bill
