Removing gfc_free()

I don't believe Janne was suggesting to remove assignements to NULL or anything else of the sort. I think he is saying that where we currently have (or emit) code such as:

  if (x) free(x)

it should be simplified into:

  free(x)

The two are functionally equivalent (the only reason they weren't in the first place was on very old pre-ANSI C compilers, which are nowhere to be found anymore).
