Indeed I have some difficulties using '--enable-maintainer-mode', mainly 
because I haven't autoconf-2.64, so I didn't try FX patches.

Now I haven't understood if I have to use 'quad.diff' or 'quad_gen.diff' 
or both.

Really I have tried both but got a few 'Reversed (or previously applied) 
patch detected!'...
