huge object files. Expectable?

Thanks. tgz file attached with the example code stripped down to the
basics (about 50 loc total). README also included. Use this code for what
you need. Although I'd prefer it not to enter public domain, if someone
wants it for something, I'd be happy to put an explicit GPL or something 
similar on it.
