[RFC] Some Fortran manual tweaks

Hi,

this patch addresses most of the "specific remarks" mentioned by Arjen 
Markus in comment #0 of PR 37605:

I mostly agree with them, but in some cases changes to the intrinsics 
documentation made it diverge from the description in the standard; that 
may or may not be what we want (thinking of EPSILON here).

I've left some @c XXX's in there for things I'm not quite sure about for 
now.

What do you think about the changes?  If we can work out a set of 
changes we agree upon, I'll check them in.  Do you think I need a 
detailed ChangeLog or can I do something like

* file.texi: Minor tweaks.
