No regressions (here on GNU/Linux-x86-32, thanks Dominique for your 
testing, too!), committed to trunk as rev. 141175.  Thanks for the quick 
review!

I have to admit that I've not yet looked into it really deeply; I think 
I will first start some playing around and try to find out where the 
need for a temporary is missed...  Well, simply I don't know yet :)  But 
hopefully I'll find a way ;)
