Thanks for the information. It seems that this is exactly
what I would like to have.

This would be a remedy for my case, but also some libgfortran
function (as proposed in the enhancement request) would help.

For the time being, it seems that there is no workaround available
(e.g. calling a C function with some Fortran-provided data).
