Hi again Paul,

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced you're just lacking  
shared libraries (most probably GMP and MPFR). Have you noted that it  
says in the binaries wiki page for cygwin: "NOTE: The GMP and MPFR  
packages must be installed for gfortran to work"? Do you have those  
in your cygwin installation? If not, go to cygwin setup.exe and try  
to install them (they come in packages with the names "gmp" and  
"mpfr", IIRC).

Otherwise, I think there used to be a separate download possible for  
thoses libraries, but I can't find it: Jerry, any idea?
