Yes, it is easy to find resources, but you'll agree
that not all resources are equally useful. I have seen
a lot of programming books that aren't worth the paper
they're printed on, but there are a few  that are
outstanding (e.g. the books by Stroustrup, Lippman,
and about a dozen others, on C++ are outstanding, but
lots of others are best avoided).  What I was after
are references from experienced fortran programmers
for books they find accurate, well written and usable.
 In other words, a little assitance separating the
wheat from the chaffe.
