this is  a Darwin8/Tiger compiler/runtime.

you might try using -gdwarf-2 on your compilation lines.

If that doesn't work, then I'm working on reissuing my patch to make  
static libgfortran work on darwin.... but it's not going to be for at  
least a few days.
