Since I never see the fdefault-*-8 options on the C* side, I seriously
doubt that you can use them in the interoperability context. This reminds
me another CAVEAT: if the code uses a library not compiled with the options
the result is likely to be broken. The same applies when the compilation
involves separate compilations of different files: they all should use the
same options (easy to forget).
