I can only second the excellent advice Tobias gave.

It'd be cool if we had a way to automatically run the testsuite under  
valgrind (both compiler and testcase). I've been thinking about that,  
for example to have something like "gfortran -frun-under=/usr/bin/ 
valgrind"... Any ideas?
