I already have a patch regtesting. Your testcase (now) works for me:

$> gfortran-svn max2.f90
max2.f90:3.13:

print *, max(i1,i2,i3,i4,i5,i6,i7,i8,i9,i10,i11,i12,i13,j)

I'll submit the patch and a description after regtesting finishes.
