I need a locally built version of gfortran 4.2.0 but I cannot bootstrap from
gcc
I have make'd and make'd install gmp 4.2.1 and mpfr 2.2.1 with gcc 4.2.0
(built with irun) - all in default places on a default SUSE10.1
installation.
No matter how I configure, setenv etc (e.g. vanilla try)
LDFLAGS='-L/usr/lib -L/usr/local/lib'
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib
I inevitably get "GNU Fortran is not working; the most common reason ..."
I am 48 hours down a painful path here. Any rescuers?
