Hi,
I am a long time user of g77 version 3.2.3 which I use for some linear
algebra programs,
which take a long time to finish running.
I haven't kept up with the latest enhancements and versions of gnu
fortran,
so forgive me if I'm asking some basic questions.
I'm particularily interested in finding the most optimizing version of
gnu fortran compiler,
which will generate executables which run the fastest.
1) What version of g77 do you think has the best optimization?
2) What is the current status of g95 - Is it stable or is it still
considered beta.
3) I have a PC with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 CPU which runs at 2.66
Ghz.
Could anyone recommend any compiler options which will cause
optimized code generation
for this CPU.
Thanks,
Bill
