Trouble building 4.1.2

I'm having trouble building gfortran in the 4.1.2 release
(i686-pc-linux-gnu).  I get a Memory fault when trying to link
gfortran.la with the recently-built 4.1.2 gfortran.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?  Any idea on how
to go about fixing it?
